Reclaim your power through healing narratives

YourStory empowers individuals to take control over their lives. Through Narrative Exposure Therapy, you are able to tend to past wounds and contextualize experiences into a complete narrative - your story.

Meet the Therapist

Jyotsna (pronounced “joe-tsnuh”) obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University, where she was also clinically trained in Narrative Exposure Therapy. She currently holds her license in Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor-In Training (License # 7953-226) and is also credentialed as a National Certified Counselor from the National Board for Certified Counselors. She is currently supervised under Tamara McDowel, LPC (License # 5128-125).

Jyotsna brings warmth, compassion, and openness into the therapeutic space. With a deeply-rooted belief in the inherent worth of every being, she engages participants with respect and non-judgement. She also understands that mental wellness is connected to many areas of one’s life and, therefore, engages in therapy that is attuned to one’s mind, body, spirit, and cultural environment. Jyotsna has worked with participants across the lifespan in various settings, where she has helped people work toward building hope, developing a strong sense of authentic self, and connecting meaningfully with others.
